Nintendo Download Highlights New Digital Content for Nintendo Systems – June 4, 2015

This week’s Nintendo Download includes the following featured content:

  • Nintendo eShop on Wii U
    • Adventures of Pip – Adventures of Pip revitalizes the classic side-scrolling action platform genre. Digital underdog Pip proves that you can’t judge a hero by his size. During the game, Pip gains the ability to grow by absorbing pixels from his fallen foes, but Pip learns bigger is not always better. Click here to view a trailer for the game.
  • Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS
    • Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven – Bowl over as many enemies as possible with a single strike in this new strategy RPG from the producer of Story of Seasons and Rune Factory. The unique “bowling” battle mechanic requires lining up melee, ranged and magical attacks so frontline enemies are knocked into others for maximum collateral damage. Click here to view a trailer for the game.
  • Virtual Console on Wii U
    • Pac-Attack – PAC-MAN makes an appearance outside of his familiar maze environment in Pac-Attack, a fun and quirky Super NES puzzle game. Keep your screen clear of falling blocks and ghosts by lining them up horizontally. Pac-Attack includes three game modes to choose from: 1P Normal, 2P Versus and the challenging 1P Puzzle.
  • New  Splatoon Update
    • Kicking off a steady stream of free content additions throughout the summer, Splatoon has a new weapon and map: the nostalgia-packed N-Zap ’85 rapid-fire shooter and the Port Mackerel map, both available now. The N-ZAP ’85 is a shooter with excellent ink efficiency and rapid-fire capability. Its attack power isn’t all that, but it’s fabulous at quickly charging up the Echolocator special weapon. Combined with Splat Bombs, this set caters to fighters who like to cover a lot of ground in battle. For more information, visit http://splatoon.nintendo.com.

Just 1 Month Left Before Club Nintendo Shuts Down…

Only 6 years ago, Club Nintendo was introduced to North America and now, 6 years later, that same loyalty program is coming at an end. Nintendo has done their best to distribute rewards deserving of your purchases and while it started off wonderfully started off great with platinum rewards such as the famous Mario hat and Super Mario Characters Figurine, as the years went by, their rewards began to become less than satisfactory with digital games that most already have. Even so, Club Nintendo will be remembered as a great loyalty program.

Club_NintendoIt has been quite a ride and Nintendo has left us with many games to choose from like Golden Sun to even full retail games like Kid Icarus: Uprising and Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Slowly but surely, we’re nearing the end of Club Nintendo’s life but don’t worry because even Nintendo said it themselves that a new loyalty program will take Club Nintendo’s place and while we don’t know exactly what this new program will bring and what will make it different from Club Nintendo, it’s sure to be even greater than Club Nintendo was. With most of the rewards coming in the form of downloadable games, could Nintendo be holding back for something more when they return with this new program?

Now with only one month left, we hope people have decided exactly what they want to snag from the soon to be non-existent Club Nintendo website. As a reminder to everyone, Nintendo has said it themselves:

The information in your Club Nintendo account will not be transferred to the new loyalty program. We are adding multiple items to our reward catalog, so please be sure to redeem your Coins before the deadline on June 30, 2015. Unused Coins will be deleted as of July 1, 2015.

If you are focusing on grabbing a physical reward, it’s recommended that you order it now because they only have them in limited quantity. If you’re going for a digital game, don’t overthink your decision. The games are FREE and certainly not a waste of coins since the service is going to shut down anyway and no decision is a bad one (unless you choose ‘Grill off with Ultra Hand!’. If so, then that is a very bad choice) and this sort of opportunity is certainly a rare one.

Stumped on what digital games you want? Try going for Super Mario World or Golden Sun. If you want to try one of the early 3D eShop titles, you could go for games like Sakura Samurai or Dillion’s Rolling Western.
